On July 1, 2008, the West Bend Clinic and St. Joseph's Hospital affiliated with Froedtert & Community Health, strengthening our ability to provide the most effective care possible for all types of medical conditions.
Froedtert & Community Health was formed in 2001 by Froedtert Hospital and Community Memorial Hospital. With the affiliation, the system today combines the capabilities of three hospitals and several community-based clinics to deliver nationally recognized, cost-effective health care and technologies to people throughout eastern Wisconsin.

Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin combine the strengths of Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College in an academic medical center that delivers advanced medical care. Academic medical centers are partnerships between a medical school and its affiliated teaching hospitals and clinics, working together to:

- Conduct breakthrough research leading to medical advancements for patients today and tomorrow
- Teach tomorrow's physicians

- West Bend Clinic - includes Hartford Clinic, West Bend Clinic-East, Jackson Clinic, West Bend Clinic-South, Jackson Eye Center, Kewaskum Clinic, West Bend Surgery Center and West Bend Clinic Rehabilitation Center
- Community Memorial Medical Commons, Menomonee Falls - primary and specialty care services, a full-service clinical laboratory, diagnostic imaging and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilition
- Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin primary care clinics - seven clinics in Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, West Allis and Wauwatosa
With our new affiliation, West Bend Clinic and St. Joseph's Hospital are part of a strong regional healthcare organization that responds to the growing needs of West Bend and Washington County.
Benefits of the affiliation include opportunities to:
- Improve care coordination across a broader network of providers
- Expand healthcare services for residents of Washington County. Cancer, cardiovascular and primary care services have already been identified as potential areas for development.
As part of Froedtert & Community Health, St. Joseph's Hospital and the West Bend Clinic will retain their names. The SynergyHealth Foundation has become the St. Joseph's Community Foundation, reflecting its mission to support healthcare needs in Washington County. All of the Foundation's resources will remain in Washington County for the betterment of the community. Additionally, any past or future donations for specific purposes for the hospital, hospice or specific programs will continue to be used for those purposes.
